A WORD FROM PASTOR TIM

Faith begins where the will of God is known. If you are not sure God wants you to have something, you can’t have faith for it.  Jesus said in Mark 9:23, faith would work on anything and for anybody who believes. I can prove this in the Word, look at Mark 6:5, the Word says “He could do no mighty work there,” it didn’t say He didn’t want to, it said He couldn’t. Notice in verse 6, “and He marveled because of their unbelief.” Unbelief means weak faith. Mark 6:5 in the Amplified Bible it says “He was not able to do even one work of power there.” We know that God is a faith God; we know Jesus is looking for faith. Luke 18:8 says “will He really find faith on the earth?” In order for you to find, you must be looking! Matthew 8:10 says, “I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel.” We know Hebrews 13:8 says, “He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”

Let’s look at Matthew 9:29, “According to your faith, let it be unto you.” He did not say according to my power! Notice in verse 28, Jesus asked them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to Him, “Yes Lord!”

The Goodspeed bible says in Matthew 9:29 “Have what your faith expects.”  The Gods Word bible says, “What you have believed will be done for you”. Notice according to this, a man in life gets what he believes for, nothing more and nothing less. 1 John 5:4 says, “For whatsoever is born of God, overcomes the world, and this is the victory that has overcome the world, our faith.” Our faith will cause us to overcome the devil, flesh, and the world. The word victory here means: the means of success! We already have the means of success! 1 Timothy 6:12 says, “Fight the good fight of faith,” there is a fight to faith.

You can always tell if you’re in the right fight. If you’re in a people fight, it’s the wrong fight. If you’re in a devil fight, it’s the wrong fight. We are called to fight the good fight of faith. The faith fight is a good fight. The faith fight requires a good confession. A good confession requires a God confession. The God confession is the word of God. In the time of fight, we must say what God says, and that only! We must declare what God, declares about us and every situation. Romans 4:17 says, “Call those things which be not, as though they are.” Satan is after your faith; his device to get your faith is taking you from the word. If he can’t take the word from you, he will take you from the word. Remember the just shall live by faith! The word says that four times in Hebrews 10:38, Romans 1:17, and Habakkuk 2:4. Faith must be an important ingredient to live and please God. In Luke 22:31, satan has asked that he may sift you as wheat.  Verse 32 says “but I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail.”

Your faith in God will cause you to stand against the wiles of the devil. Mark 11:22 says, “Jesus said, have faith in God.” Or have the faith of God. Pretty awesome statement, to tell us we could have the faith of God. In Mark 11:23, He tells us how it works, how to release your faith. James 2:17 says, “Faith by itself, if it does not have works is dead.” We could have faith and not release it, it would be dead. Jesus tells us how to release our faith, if we want God results, then we must do it God’s way! Mark 11:23, “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.” Notice it starts off with whosoever, that means that faith will work for whosoever, which means, anybody can, everybody won’t, but somebody will. Verse 23 says, “He will have whatsoever”. Faith will not only work for anybody but on whatsoever! Smith Wigglesworth said, “Any man may be changed by faith, no matter how he may be fettered.” Bottom line on Mark 11:23, whosoever shall have whatsoever he says! Jesus did not say you would have what you believe. You will have what you say. What you have now, is what you been saying. If you’re not happy with what you have in life, check out what you’ve been saying.

Jesus said “out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks” (Matthew 12:34). Our words are so powerful! We have so much power in our mouth when we mix and release our faith through words. We understand that to have a spirit of faith the word has to be in two places. The spirit of faith has to be in our mouth and heart. Romans 10:8 says, “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that is the word of faith, which we preach”. Notice he calls the word, the word of faith. The word is the only thing that produces faith. Notice in verse 9, the first thing is if you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart. In verse 10 it says, “For with the heart one believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

We will now look at 2 Corinthians 4:13 that says, “And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, I believed and therefore I spoke, we also believe and therefore speak.” Now we understand that the whole Bible is not about faith, but the whole Bible has the capacity to produce faith. Now concerning a spirit of faith, a spirit of faith must be contagious. The principles of faith are taught, but a spirit of faith must be caught. Now Paul said, “Since we having the same spirit of faith”, he didn’t say we are praying for it, or fasting for it, but he said we have it. If we have it, where did we get it? The Word! Praise God!

It must not be arrogant to say you have something if you have it! Paul said that his faith is according to what is written. Everybody will say, they have a spirit of faith, but it must line up with the word! Let’s take a look at Mark 11:24 which says, “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” You must 1st believe that you receive, and then you will have them.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The word created here means the type of power God used to create the world. Create is to bring something from nothing. Hebrews 11:3 says, “By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God.” If we read Genesis chapter one, we will see all through here, God said, then God saw. God never saw until He said! We will never see until we say. And the things that we see, is because of what we said. Genesis 2:7 says, “And man became a living being”, in the Hebrew it is translated speaking spirit! We are created in the image of God. Genesis 1:26 says, “Shadow of God, according to our likeness, an exact duplication in kind.” We are created to create things in our world, the way God made us! Let’s look at scriptures that prove this point. Proverbs 6:2 says, “You are snared by the words of your mouth.”  You are taken by the words of your mouth. I call it POW: Prisoners of Words!

As a young boy, my dad always told me my mouth would get me in trouble! My dad never told me that same mouth could get me out of trouble! Matthew 12:36 says, But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the Day of Judgment. Verse 37 says, “For by your words you will be justified…” Notice Jesus did not say by His words, that’s because His words should always be in our mouth. Jesus said that the same mouth would justify and condemn. What makes the difference? It’s the Word. Job 9:20 says, “Though I were righteous, my own mouth would condemn me, though I were blameless, it would prove me perverse.” What would? Your mouth, your words.  Luke 19:22 says, “out of your own mouth, I will judge you.” In Matthew 15:10-11, “Hear and understand, not what goes into the mouth defiles a man, but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man.” Wow!

People say it’s not important what you say but that’s not what the scriptures say! Jesus said in Mark 11:23, “whosoever shall have whatsoever he says.” Let’s look at some examples of this! The syro-phoenecian woman in Mark 7:26 says she kept asking him. Mark 7:29 “for this saying go your way the demon has gone out of your daughter.” Why didn’t Jesus say because of your faith? Because her confession was her faith speaking. Our confession is our speaking of our faith. Mark 7:29 says (NLT) “Good answer and because you have answered so well, I have healed your daughter.” What about blind Bartimaeus? Many people that day asked him to be quiet but instead he got louder! Mark 10:51 says, “Jesus asked, what do you want me to do for you? The blind man said to him, that I may receive my sight!” Mark 10:52 says, “Jesus said to him, go your way, your faith, notice he did not say my power has made you whole.” Because your faith activates the Power of God, your faith causes you to be able to receive from God!

One of my favorite examples in the Bible about faith is the woman with the issue of blood. Mark 5:25 says, “Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for 12 years.” In verse 26 it tells us that she had spent all that she had. This woman came to Jesus sick, broke, and oppressed. When she heard about Jesus that is when faith came. Notice she didn’t get healed when she heard; she got faith to be healed but was not healed. Let’s go on! Mark 5:28-30 says, For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well. Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction. And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, ‘Who touched My clothes?”  Notice that her faith activated the anointing! Verse 34 says, “And He said to her, ‘Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.” Notice He didn’t say my power has made you whole.
