Look at Proverbs 10:22. “The BLESSING of the Lord makes one rich and adds no sorrow with it.” The BLESSING is not being rich, but being rich is the result of the BLESSING! When we go outside and see leaves blowing, we always say “look at the wind”. It’s not the wind! The leaves blowing is the result of the wind blowing! Well the BLESSING is the same way. The result of the BLESSING will make one rich and add no sorrow. We can see from the beginning of time that God’s plan for mankind was to walk in the BLESSING. We will look at that in just a moment.
First of all, we need to understand if we read in Deuteronomy 28, that there’s nothing good in or about the curse. It’s all bad! Every bit of it. We can also see that everything in and about the BLESSING is good. So we can identify the curse as bad and the BLESSING as good.
We can see that the devil enforces the curse. In John 10:10, we see that “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.” We can plainly see through the scripture that the curse steals, kills, and destroys. The devil, just like the curse, has no good in him. We can also see in the same scripture that Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
Now we clearly see that Jesus came to release the BLESSING. Let’s look at some more scriptures that show us that: “You are the sons of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our Fathers, saying to Abraham and in your seed all the families of the earth shall be BLESSED.” Acts 3:25 Wow! He call us “sons of the covenant”. The covenant is the BLESSING. How exciting is that?
“To you first, God having raised up His servant Jesus, sent Him to BLESS you, in turning away everyone of you from your iniquities.” Acts 3:26 How amazing is that? God sent Jesus to BLESS you! Now we know the reason God sent Jesus is because of His love for us, right? John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, He sent His son, His only son to die for us.” It was the love of God working for us! “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 Come on now! While we were still sinners….Now that’s powerful!
“Nevertheless the Lord your God would not listen to Balaam, but the Lord your God turned the curse into the BLESSING for you, because the Lord your God loves you.” Deuteronomy 23:5 There’s the love of God in demonstration. The BLESSING is God’s love in demonstration. If He turned the curse into a BLESSING because He loves you, then the BLESSING is still in place, because He still loves you! “He has sent redemption to His people.” Psalm 111:9 We know that we have to receive redemption by faith. The next part of that verse He has commanded His covenant forever. Forever is a long time! We are living in it now! “Let us make man in our image.” Genesis 1:26
We are a shadow of God, “In Christ”! Notice the first words that man heard from God: “Then God BLESSED them.” Genesis 1:28 How did God BLESS them? And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and subdue it.” When God BLESSED them, He placed upon mankind an anointing to be fruitful and multiply and to fill the earth and subdue it!
WE ARE BLESSED IN CHRIST!
